Uniform Style Guide

On 4 April 2002 the Police Service of Northern Ireland's uniform was changed.

The Uniform and Protective Measures Committee, chaired by the Chief Superintendent, Operations Branch, meets on a regular basis to determine the style, content, scale of issue and guidelines in respect of all aspects of uniform and protective measures.

A Style Guide has been produced by the Uniform and Protective Measures Committee to ensure that there is a corporate approach to the wearing of approved uniform and equipment. All officers are expected to portray a favourable and professional image of the PSNI and maintain a high standard of personal appearance at all times when on duty. The Uniform Style Guide will be made available to all candidates who are accepted into training, and they will be expected to familiarise themselves with the contents of the guide and to comply with the uniform regulations contained therein.
