Induction
Approximately two weeks prior to the commencement of training, a Student Induction Day is held at Police College, Garnerville for new recruits. This Induction Day is intended to give you an insight into Police College and your new role as a Trainee.
During the Induction Day you will attend lectures and receive inputs from Police College and University of Ulster staff as to the level of commitment and study required to successfully pass the initial training course.
At the Student Induction you will receive details of Student Regulations, Standing Orders and other important information about the training programme. You will also complete basic administrative registration practicalities.
As you embark on your new career in the PSNI, clearly personal family support will be vital. In order to welcome your family / friends to the PSNI and to help aid this support mechanism, two relatives / friends will have the opportunity to join you at Police College during the evening of your Induction Day. Your guests will receive an overview of the training programme and undertake a tour of the facilities.
It is hoped that your Student Induction Day will help ease you in to your new life in the PSNI.
