Application Process

This recruitment campaign for Full-Time Regular Police Trainees will be managed by Deloitte (previously referred to as The Consensia Partnership).

Deloitte's main involvement in the recruitment campaign will run between January 2010 and August 2010. In particular Deloitte will manage the application processing / screening stage, the initial selection testing stage and the assessment centre stage of the process.

Following these stages PSNI Occupational Health and Welfare (OHW) will handle the Medical Examination stage of the process.

Once the recruitment testing and assessment stages are complete the PSNI Chief Constable will select trainees on a 50:50 basis from a pool of qualified candidates.

Scheduling of testing and assessment dates

Deloitte is not able to give you precise dates at this stage, but we plan to commence the Initial Selection Testing in March 2010, with the Assessment Centre stage commencing in May 2010.

We will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible as to when you should attend for testing and assessments.

Please note that during Campaign 1001 there will be no stage exemptions available, based on participation in previous recruitment campaigns. All candidates in Campaign 1001 will have to undertake the Initial Selection Test and, if invited, the Assessment Centre.

Deloitte and the PSNI encourage you to be as patient as possible while waiting for progress on your application. We understand that it can be very frustrating to have to wait a long time for word on your application, your test/assessment appointments or your test/assessment results etc.

We will endeavour to provide you with updates as often as possible, however we ask you to note that we have a very large number of applicants to process and we appreciate your patience. Deloitte anticipate that its main client facing contact with candidates for Campaign 1001 will run from January until August 2010.

You will notice from the Process Timeline table above that the PSNI managed Selection of Trainees on a 50:50 basis happens November onwards. So as to help guide you in managing your expectations, we would like to point out that the selection process is ongoing over a number of months, and some applicants who are successful at all stages of the recruitment process and are to be offered a post, may still not start their new job until over a year has passed from the time of their original application. This is unavoidable and your patience is very much appreciated.
