Secondment and Personnel Exchange Opportunities
During your career as a PSNI officer you may be able to avail of exciting secondment and personnel exchange opportunities with other UK and international agencies / forces.
The professionalism and effectiveness of the PSNI continues to be recognised nationally and internationally through the demand for officer secondments.
Currently there are a wide variety of secondments both nationally and internationally to other police services and organisations. These include the National Policing Improvement Agency, Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary, the UK Borders Agency, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and An Garda Síochána.
The Personnel Exchange with An Garda Síochána has been very successful, promoting invaluable cross border communication, exchange of information, knowledge and contacts. To date over 60 officers have exchanged through this programme.
These secondments and personnel exchanges provide benefits to the service as well as an opportunity for police officers to develop their careers and gain valuable experience.
